Secrets In Lace Retro Lingerie
Denver’s best high fashion designers went “low brow” to present their looks at a pin up fashion show to benefit Max Fund (no kill shelter) at Gary Lee’s Motor Club on South Broadway. The crowd anxiously awaited for the show as they sipped on brews and enjoyed home style BBQ grub.
Kicking off the fashion show was a naughty little number from Lisa Elstun of FDC. Professional Pin Up Model Bella Rage was all the rage in an all black lingerie ensemble. Overall, the looks ranged from high waisted pants to the a-line skirt and cardigan sweater mastered by Mona Lucero. Gino Velardi went VIVA LA GLAM with a classic combination of vintage queen meets luxurious goddess. Fashion show host, Equilibrium, brought us the fun flavor of tiki and Stephanie O showed a chic version of the WWII sailor girl. Darlene of RMCAD made her mark with a gorgeous olive, two piece palazzo pantsuit. A pin up fashion show wouldn’t be complete without showing off that va va va voom that Anne of Anna Festa brought forth with her teal colored curvy girl design. DeeDee of D’Lola closed out the show. She stepped out of her exquisite and elegant bridal esthetic and joined the fun with a patterned print of yellow checkers on a dress that is “sock hop” ready.
If you missed this years fun…don’t fret. Gary Lee Days will be back again next year. I’m hopeful that the rockabilly lifestyle will become a thing in Denver in years to come. Bring on the pomade and victory rolls!

Two days of celebrating everything Gary Lee loved! Kicking off the event on Friday September 16th at 8pm was Pretty Mouth and the Trade-Ins!
Saturday we began the festivities with the surf rock sounds of the Royal Aces, followed by a pin up fashion show put on by Equillibrium, and a pompadour and pin up hair contest with competing salons. After that we had the ridiculous shenanigans of the band Gravity Tapes. At 6pm there was a live auction (as well as a silent auction that ran through the day) with some very rare Gary Lee creations all benefiting Max Fund. Everyone knows how Gary loved his dog Clarence, who will also made an appearance. And closing, they had a DOUBLE HEADLINER with Kerry Pastine and the Crime Scene and the Nuns of Brixton.
This will be an annual event, so don’t miss the FIRST EVER Gary Lee Days!
