Held at the National Western Complex and co- hosted by Bernadette Macias of Sullen TV fame  & Mr MC Pancho; the Colorado Tattoo Convention & Expo started off with a bang! Many came out for the first day checking out all of the excitement. Many local artists were present allowing potential clientele from the area to become familiar with each artist’s style and get to know which of those artists would be their best match.

Saturday proves to be an even bigger day with a freak show, a pinup competition, barber competition, burlesque show, lucha libre  and a car show…. Almost too much but they managed to pull it off. On stage we have many different competitions for best color, best black & gray, best portrait; just to name a few. The world record holder for the most tattoos “The Human Checkerboard” was walking around and seemed to be a crowd favorite.

Sunday wrapped up the event and the night closed out smoothly. I saw some really great pieces as well as some that should have maybe not entered the contest but here’s to all those that participated. My highlight would be meeting Ms. Bernadette. If you have ever wondered if she was as sweet in person as she seems to be on the TV, you would not be let down. Witty and fun, she definitely was a main attraction for the show.
