13th Annual Paper Fashion Show “HAUTE COUTURE IN PAPER WONDERLAND”
The Seawell ballroom at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts was buzzing with the finest guests. The night began with pre-show cocktails, backstage tours and even an exclusive champagne reception. The Seawell ballroom looked as if we were walking into a room full of stars ready to transcend into Paper Wonderland. As soon as the clock struck 7:30pm, guests were in their seats, photographers in the pit and the judges were ready to go!
The fashion show started with an exclusive ballet performance by the Thomas Dance Project. Their performance set the mood for what was to be a whimsical evening full of enchantment, creativity and amazing aesthetic. The show kicked off with a fabulous piece by Blue Linen Creative, Dreaming in RED and it was exactly that. The folds in the paper, the detail and definition left me in awe! After seeing this piece of art, I knew the rest of the show was going to be amazing and choosing the winning team with the best design was going to be a tough call.
Over forty designs hit the runway, all of them full of creativity and sheer genius! People in the audience were marveling at the designs and were wowed by the detail, definition and aesthetic that was walking down the runway. We saw a little bit of everything; mermaids, cotton candy, a futuristic alien robot, a dragon, and an Egyptian goddess. It truly was a paper wonderland!
The 13th Annual Paper Fashion Show, “HAUTE COUTURE IN PAPER WONDERLAND,” was extraordinary and the amount of hours that the design teams put into their creations was truly evident! After speaking to Judge, Deedee Vicory (head designer at D’Lola Couture) she mentioned, how it was so tough choosing a winner as the designs brought forward were so amazing! Ultimately, when choosing a winner it came down to the details, creativity and precision put into the design!

2nd Place – THE GUARDIAN BY THE HANGER ETC
3rd Place – FUTURISTIC ALIEN ROBOT
Star Student – STARDREAM BY KAYLA WOLINS
