If you missed out on this year’s KS 107.5 Summer Jam XX, you missed out on one amazing show!! This year’s event sold out quickly and over 17,000 people were in attendance.
Kicking off the night was Denver’s local talent, Top Flight Empire who lit up the stage proper. Usually an opening act of any kind can rarely captivate the crowd, let alone own it. Unleashing many of their most popular hits, they left the stage to be followed by Amine, a member of The Freshman Class. Amine has a smooth style that flowed easily and effortlessly as he walked the stage. I could already tell that this would be a show for the record books!
Another well-known Denver artist takes the stage. This time, it’s Trev Rich. Having been recently signed to Cash Money Records, Trev Rich performed ‘Flex Sumn’ from his latest album ‘To Make a Long Story Short’ along with some of his older crowd favs from his ‘Heights’ series. Looking out over the crowd and just when I thought it couldn’t get any bigger, the people were still crowding close to the stage.
Kyle took the stage next as part two of this year’s freshman class. Such amazing energy from these guys. Post Malone, Kid Ink and Migos played stellar sets and then came the finale of the evening. One major heavy hitter named Ludacris. Yes that is correct, THE Ludacris! The moment he walked on to the stage, I wished I had brought ear plugs because the crowd went wild and I do mean wild, 17,000 people all super excited to see him live. You can imagine just how loud that was! Opening up the show with hits from ‘Word of Mouf’ and ‘Incognegro’, Luda drove the crowd insane. I have never seen so many know all the words to each song before. Quite amazing to see live. In my early college years, I listened to Luda. I even remember putting those cd’s on to listen to on my drive to work. I never thought I would have the chance to see him perform my fav songs live.
What a great day this was! Overall, this year’s Summer Jam had such great diversity of artists, from local to up-and-coming, all the way to the veteran multi-platinum recording artists! Personally, I can’t wait to see what next year’s Summer Jam XXI brings.
