A new tour for both of these megawatt superstars yet this one will allow Blondie to test out music from their 11th studio LP, ‘Pollinator’, which was released on May 5th. Collaborating with such talent as Sia, Charli XCX and Nick Valensi of The Strokes, hoping to push for some fun. Debbie Harry saying, “If I can’t dance, I don’t want to be part of your revolution.” Wise words to live by if you ask me!
However, not a new release, Garbage does have new material they will be performing. Their album ‘Strange Little Birds’ was released last year, so I feel it will be exciting to hear it performed tonight.
Shirley takes the stage, opening up with one of their huge hits Queer followed by a song from their new CF ‘Empty’, which left me pleasantly surprised at just how well they can still capture the music and make it their own. Garbage has always had their own certain style and with that being said, the crowd loved it too! If you have been a fan for quite some time, then you will appreciate all the songs played from their debut CD, which topped the charts in the 90’s for quite some time.
Next to take the stage was international Icon Blondie. Truly amazing to witness such talent on stage, her presence alone is larger than life. Her energy as she walks along the audience row is so contagious and I am sure many could feel it all the way to the very back of the rows. Playing all her most loved hits such as ‘One Way or Another’, ‘Call Me’ & ‘Rapture’, she incorporated a few from her latest release like ‘To Much’ before closing out her night with ‘Heart of Glass’. History right before my eyes and I could not be luckier!
