Sound Tribe Sector 9 (STS9) announced today their concept-driven production ‘Sky World’, a continuation of their beloved 2019 event, ‘Push the Sky.’ The three-day run will take place across Colorado’s iconic venues Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Summit. After 7 consecutive years of annually performing in September, STS9 will shift to play Denver this summer in celebration of the Day Out of Time on July 25 – the last day of the year for the 13-moon calendar. Recognized by over 90 countries worldwide, the day ushers in a New Year as dictated by seasons changing and astrological rising of stars and planets – a truly fitting intersection of life, art and culture for STS9 to embrace with their fans.
Hunter Brown of STS9 comments, “In 2019, we tapped into the epic nature of Red Rocks to help us Push the Sky – a call to come together to face the big challenges of our day and to simply keep pushing in our daily lives. This year we enter Sky World, that place where we revel in our connection with the stars and together manifest the world we want to make.”
The three-day run will begin on July 23 with a warm-up show at Summit, followed by immersive performances at Red Rocks with support from Shpongle (Simon Posford Live Set) and Mize on July 24, and Tycho DJ Set and Chrome Sparks DJ Set on July 25.
Presale tickets are available starting today exclusively on Bandcamp, with general tickets going on sale at 10 AM on February 21 here. Tickets to the Summit show will be available exclusively as a 3-night bundle when purchased with tickets to the two nights at Red Rocks.
Just two months into 2020, STS9 has already played a historic set of shows, just wrapping their unprecedented four-day takeover at Belly Up Aspen. The band’s indisputable popularity in Colorado led to the expansion of their usual run from two to four days, which has never been done in the club’s 15 years of business. STS9 also recently announced their inaugural Orlando event Hotel Elsewhere, in collaboration with local favorites Home Bass. Avanti Palms Resort and Convention Center will create a unique community from daytime pool vibes to all-night-long sets featuring three performances from the band as well as CloZee, Golf Clap, Justin Jay, Keys N Krates, and more.
Last year, STS9 introduced their fans to Visions Tapes, a release concept series consisting of exciting transitional moments between their most celebrated songs. Sourced from recordings over the past two years, the collection of far-reaching musical mashups defines just how technical STS9 performances really are.
